Position Overview: As a Tax Accountant II, you will play a pivotal role in our firm's tax department, assisting clients with tax compliance, planning, and advisory services. You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, providing expert guidance on tax matters and helping them optimize their tax strategies to achieve their financial goals. Responsibilities: Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns. Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize financial efficiency. Communicate effectively with clients to address tax-related inquiries and provide personalized recommendations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to proactively advise clients on potential impacts and opportunities. Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the tax department. Assist in mentoring and training junior staff members on tax preparation and compliance best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, preferably in a public accounting firm. Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem FX, Lacerte) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
